You are in control of yourself and you work for various clients. This can be private individuals as well as companies. The assignments then vary greatly from customer to customer. Is multimedia your thing? Then you will soon be creating videos or animations in an advertising agency. Are you more interested in print? Then you can become a designer of a hip and trendy magazine. In any case, you are a good asset in the rapidly changing graphics sector!
As the graphic / advertising world evolves, we also have to look for new solutions to find new, fresh ideas. The better designers remain. The weaker graphic designers who find it difficult to compete (in terms of level with the better designers) can quickly be bounced from the business. That is why it is very important nowadays to distinguish yourself from others and to constantly train yourself. A course from this subcategory offers a great opportunity to expand your skills. - Employer speaks
Also in the world of graphic design trends are changing all the time. All graphic designers keep a close eye on these trends to keep up with the market. 3D and realism, for example, is gaining popularity. Thanks to different software it is becoming easier to create graphic 3D designs. To become even more creative, designers are increasingly mixing this trend with realism; for example by placing the illustration in a photo. Monotone designs are now 'boring'. Gradients have emerged in recent years to make the whole thing more playful and lively. Because the trend has been around for a number of years, we see that the way it is used is increasingly varied. It is no longer just two colors, but three or even more. The trend of typography and aligning elements has been going on for a few years. Now it continues even further. Full illustrations and even animations are created from thin lines. Line art is sleek and elegant, but can also come across as very playful.
New apps and programs are constantly being released that make the job of a graphic designer easier and enable new designs. Just think of Canva.com. This is a handy drag-and-drop tool with ready-to-use designs.
A long time ago when I made the transition from kindergarten to primary school, my mother took me with me to enroll. I received my very first ray of sunshine from the then director after filling out the paperwork. The cover featured an owl that hunted mice. I can still picture it like that. I liked that so much that I thought I’d want to design later too. And look, it is (finally) time. Last week I received an email asking if I would be interested in working for publisher Averbode. I didn't have to think about it for long. The course was very practical and everything was explained very clearly! - Ex-student speaking
